Software Engineering Manager - Aftermarket
The Software Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing a team regarding various software programs, databases and coding. Provides oversight on the design and development of software applications. Ensures that each process is completed efficiently, and that the proper analyses are being performed with the software.

General Responsibilities

Management of software systems development function, including the design, development, troubleshooting, and debugging of software programs for software enhancements and new products including cloud-based or internet-related tools.Management of the development of software and software tools used for design, infrastructure, and platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, and databases.Management of hardware compatibility and/or hardware designSelection, development, and evaluation of personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.  Maintain a high-performance culture through team competencies.Leverage of engineering fundamentals and organization to make sound decisions on complex technical issuesConduct presentations in meetings with updates on technical information with specifics on projects/schedules and timelinesCommunicate with customers to understand new applications and programs. Understand customer requirements and expectations and develop/drive actions and schedules needed to support those program expectations.  Maintain interactions with customers to communicate program status updates.Management of resource workload, support of project prioritization, and management of task distribution and assignment.Management of software knowledge base and development of best practices.Communication and collaboration with international members of development teams.


Experience / Qualifications

A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.2-5 Years of software product development experience - preferably in the automotive, heavy vehicle, or heavy equipment industriesAbility to lead, coach, and develop team membersHolds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standardsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demandsStrong communication skills; oral, written and presentationStrong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve resultsStrong personal and professional ethical values and integrityProficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Excel)Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
