**Your role and responsibilities**
As a Performance Analyst at IBM, you’ll get to work on the systems that are driving the quantum revolution and the AI era. You will be part of a small team who works/edits a modeling tool to model the Processor for performance. You will work with the extended team of designers and developers to model changes to the system to prove performance and power savings in the system Design, for both current systems in test and future systems in design stages.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
IBM Systems has openings for SW Performance Analyst with Hardware Performance Modeling Engineers to develop, test and provide developer support for hardware, firmware and semiconductors that make up our industry leading IBM Systems products. We are an elite team of engineering professionals that pioneer innovations for the cutting-edge microprocessors and hardware used in IBM infrastructure including IBM zSystems, IBM Storage, and IBM Quantum Systems. Development engineers participate in various aspects of the development, test, and performance process such as but not limited to:
* Performance design and layout
* Coding in C/C+* Analyzing data
* Executing workloads and conducting analysis of results
* Understanding of HW models
* Maintain open Communications with design teams
* Knowledge of IBM Z Architecture is a plus
**Preferred technical and professional experience**
* Ideal candidates will possess demonstrated design, test, and communication skills.
* Interdisciplinary and other team-based experience in hardware design, including but not limited to high level design roadmaps, outlining requirements, verification, analysis, and testing is a plus.
* Candidates with at least three to six months of team-based work experience with hardware products, basic knowledge or experience with other programming languages such as Shell Scripting and Python are preferred but these are not required.
