The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Job Description

As Software Product Manager II you will work closely with a senior product management leadership to learn the strategy of the Enterprise Rules Platform, the goals of the business, and select projects that will use the Enterprise Rules Platform to automate decisions. Such collaborative work will help prepare you to contribute to the team's roadmap, gain alignment across the organization, and lead implementations of automated decisions.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Participate in Product and Project Discovery efforts to understand and analyze user needs 

Synthesize stakeholder feedback and product data into business cases 

Write user-centered stories to clearly define user needs and detailed product requirements 

Evangelize product vision and clearly communicate business case with problem to be solved and definition of success 

Effectively communicate project status to stakeholders 

Coordinate and plan project implementations  

Lead post-launch data collection and analysis, make adjustments based on quantitative and qualitative feedback

Become lead expert in business rule modeling

Consult and train other rule modelers

Model and test rulesets as needed

Stay current on new Enterprise Rules Platform capabilities, and rule modeling best practices

Serve as implementation lead and provide oversight

Evangelize Enterprise Rule Platform use across the organization

Engage with product and business teams and capture voice of the customer

Synthesize project requirements

Develop or supervise implementation plan for decision services

Coordinate integration of decision services into applications with product teams

Oversee asset permissions, source control, version control

Recommend and supervise unit and system integration testing

Performs other related duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

Familiarity with rule-based systems, decision management, and business process automation

Familiarity with data modeling and data structures

Proficiency with spreadsheets, such as Excel

Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills 

Strong passion for exploring and understanding customer needs 

Natural leadership instincts, with a positive team building approach 

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in data modeling, data integration, and/or API development

Proficiency with rule-based systems, decision management, and/or business process automation

Project or Product management experience, preferably in software

Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

Certifications in business rules management in general or Corticon in particular

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Position & Application Details
