Mission: As the voice of the customer, you will define and drive the product vision for our automotive software solutions. You will collaborate closely with customers to understand their needs, translate them into actionable requirements, prioritize features, and ensure successful software delivery. This is a customer-facing role requiring travel to customer locations.
Scope: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Define and prioritize work, assess project delivery and quality, and proactively identify and escalate risks.

Project planning and execution
· Collaborate with customers to define and align feature delivery plans with internal teams and feasibility.
· Create and manage the product backlog, including user story creation and prioritization.
· Work with development teams on sprint planning, tracking progress, and reporting to leadership.
· Manage program dependencies and risks, escalating issues as needed.

Quality management for the project delivery
· Lead meetings to clarify requirements, address issues, and ensure adherence to quality targets.
· Lead defect triage discussions and drive resolution.
· Track and report on key quality metrics, ensuring releases meet agreed-upon standards.
· Ensure adherence to software processes, procedures, and tool usage.
· Represent the software team in change control boards and conduct release readiness reviews.

Collaboration with internal teams
· Act as a liaison between software and non-software teams (e.g., product assurance, systems engineering, hardware, suppliers) to resolve inter-disciplinary dependencies.
· Collaborate with other software delivery teams to share knowledge and align on common requirements.

Key Experience required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
8+ years of experience in automotive embedded software development and delivery, specifically within In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems.
Proven experience in Android development within an automotive context.
Experience managing distributed, multi-cultural development teams across different time zones is highly preferred.
Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
Strong practical experience with Agile methodologies and tools, including Jira.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a software project management role, demonstrating successful project execution and delivery.
Proficient in project management principles and practices for the execution of automotive software development projects, including risk management, resource allocation, and budget control.
Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in embedded systems (e.g., C, C++, Java) and experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
Familiarity with standard design techniques using UML tools (e.g., Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody).
Experience with software configuration management tools (e.g., Git).
Proven ability to work effectively as a team player with excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with all levels of a global, matrixed organization.
Japanese language proficiency is a significant advantage.
