Software QA Test Engineer
Job Title: Software QA Test EngineerJob Description We are seeking a Software QA Test Engineer with a strong background in software and physical device testing. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and a proficiency in software testing methodologies. This role requires familiarity with defect tracking systems and test case management systems, as well as practical experience in a Linux environment. You will work in an Agile environment and utilize scripting or programming languages such as Python or Bash. Responsibilities + Execute test plans and test cases on both simulated and physical robotics systems. + Identify, document, and track defects in Jira. + Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to troubleshoot issues. + Conduct release testing before new features are delivered to production. + Utilize scripting or programming languages to automate tests and enhance testing efficiency. Essential Skills + 3-5 years of experience in software and physical device testing. + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. + Proficiency in software testing methodologies, including test plan and test case development. + Familiarity with defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira) and test case management systems (e.g., TestRail). + Practical experience with Linux environment. + Experience in an Agile environment. + Some scripting or programming experience with languages such as Python or Bash. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with manual software testing and quality assurance. + Experience with automation testing. + Knowledge of hardware testing and systems testing. + Understanding of software quality, C#, development, software engineering. + Experience in Grey Box and White Box testing. + Good communication and documentation skills. Work Environment The team comprises two other engineers who are pursuing advanced degrees. The role will predominantly involve manual testing (85%) with some automation (15%), focusing on physical products. A baseline understanding of hardware is beneficial. The environment is collaborative, with an emphasis on troubleshooting and continuous improvement. Dress code is casual.
