Job Summary
The Red Hat Quality Engineering (QE) team is looking for a Quality Engineer to join us in Israel. In this role, you will work as part of a team that serves as the final checkpoint before the code is released to the public. You will perform function, integration, and UI testing on Red Hat's cloud infrastructure project, Red Hat OpenShift Platform. As a Quality Engineer, you will be encouraged to come up with innovative solutions to problems while you work alongside some of the brightest engineers in the open source community.
What you will do:
Write automated tests and carry out manual tests
Develop tests using automation infrastructure and available scripting languages
Create test cases and maintain an understanding of the processes
Help develop the community automation testing framework and enhance the coverage by adding more tests to the existing suite
Find bugs and write accurate bug reports
Build or enhance tools after gaining support from stakeholders in QE and Development teams
Participate in the design sessions of the solutions with development and product management to scope and prioritize new features
What you will bring::
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
2+ years of experience in quality assurance, focusing on API testing and test automation.
Proven experience use of Kubernetes, OpenShift or Container Orchestration tools.
Debugging skills in distributed systems
Good knowledge of CI(Jenkins).
Good programming skills, with proficiency in languages such as Python or GO
Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Pytest, Ginkgo).
Solid understanding of software development life cycle, testing methodologies, and best practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ready to take initiative and optimize his work.
Good communication and collaboration skills.
Desire to help take Pattern to the next level through exploration and innovation.
Linux or UNIX system administration experience
Stay updated on industry best practices, tools, and technologies related to test automation.
The following is considered a plus:
Kubernetes/OpenShift Installation experience.
ISTQB Certification is valuable
Basic knowledge of Pacemaker(Cluster resource manager) is valuable too
Knowledge of AI would be valuable too
