At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!
This role is part of the Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance team. This team is focused on monitoring and assessing processes that guide Blue Origin’s design, manufacturing, and operations, ensuring system safety engineering, environmental health, and safety, product integrity, and continuous improvement processes.
Interested in improving the safety of rockets, ground systems, and space destinations? This role will mentor engineers in developing safety critical software to avoid hazards. Safety engineering experience is not required; but candidates need to have developed embedded software and/or complex electronic hardware and demonstrate a deep understanding of design and engineering, not just programming, algorithms, and testing. You will train engineers, review software processes, approve safety analysis results and requirements, audit program compliance to safety objectives, review risk characterization of open problems, and champion safety. This position will contribute to the safe development of crewed space systems.
We hire for technical ambition and the ability to earn trust. Other core required qualities include responsibility, ethics, curiosity, and creative thinking. We work hard to provide competitive compensation and benefits; and we recognize that safety depends on sharper thinking that comes from maintaining a healthy work-life balance. This position will directly impact the future of space exploration by building a road to space!
