The Mission Solutions Business Area at Leidos seeks a Mid-Level Software Specialist to support the creation of new software capabilities within a matrixed research and development organization. This position will be responsible for creating new concepts for IT and Computer Science applications and writing original code. This position requires advanced knowledge (at least three years) of computer science, application building, requirements collection, simulation, data analysis, test, and verification of software simulation or decision systems. A successful applicant will be able to write various coding languages (for example: Java, C++, Python, R, JavaScript, HTML), construct enterprise IT systems using web servers and databases (for example: JBoss, Tomcat, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Docker).
A successful applicant will also need to be able to Mentor and lead teams of other subject matter experts, guiding and teaching senior people as well as junior in the process of defining new systems to achieve specific research goals.
This software development positions leads activities and performs them. It is a key role within multiple active R&D projects. The focus of this position is on the creation of new, novel, and imaginative approaches to solving difficult analytical problems within the government problem domain.
Required qualifications:

Pay Range:Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00
