Posting Number: S06243P Department: Engineering & Computer Science Salary Range: $60,707 DOQ Pay Basis: Monthly Position Status: Regular full-time Location: Richardson Job Description: The University of Texas at Dallas has an excellent job opportunity for individuals looking to join the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science team as a Software Systems Specialist II. The position will provide expert technical assistance to The University of Texas at Dallas Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science ( ECS ) Staff and Faculty. You will be a part of the ECS -IT Team that is responsible for supporting, designing, testing, and deploying third-party patches and software to all departmental-controlled desktops. Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent IT certifications with 2 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Education and Experience: + Windows and Linux system administration experience + Application support experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft Server. + Experience with VMware vCenter and a general understanding of virtualization. + Intermediate BASH or Python scripting skills, including understanding, modifying, and creating scripts. + Must have Linux Administration Experience. + Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
