Job Summary: 

Trane Technologies is currently seeking a System Test Engineer

We are looking for a skilled System Test Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the seamless integration and functionality of complex systems and software applications. This role requires the ability to work effectively with HVAC hardware and software development, software test and product development. This role also requires the ability to analyze HVAC data using different data analysis tools. A background in HVAC applications is welcomed and preferred and will help resource to be successful.

Onsite in Tyler, Texas location

What you will do:

Analyzing functional requirements, to generate a comprehensive set of test cases.Writing functional test procedures and automated test scripts that provide comprehensive testing of the product requirements.Executing test procedures and automated test scripts as part of formal product testing.Leverage the matrix setup for automation test and review the test results on a regular basis Helping build and maintain the controls lab facilities (matrix setup, order/ship test hardware etc.)Manage Lab Test Requests and keep reports on data analytics operations.Assisting in the development of test frameworks when appropriate.Helping advance testing tools, technology, and processes within Controls Engineering.Making recommendations for improvement of the product testing process Support the ongoing test efforts in various labs within RSConduct exploratory testing based on detailed knowledge of the product under test.Perform confidence test to support a smooth execution of field trial testing Reporting product issues within the defect tracking system.Verifying product defect fixes in various releases.Represent system test group during IDR'sLead the daily standups Resolve any blockers on a daily basis

 

What you will bring:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related discipline is preferred.Ideal candidate is someone who has 3-5 years of experience in engineering or related discipline along with strong knowledge on HVAC domain. Must understand and adhere to safety measures when working with electrical equipment.Should have demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with others in writing and orally.Course work or experience in the following areas is desired: current test methodologies, quality assurance practices, and object-oriented and component-based product development.Experience with automated testing is desired.Programming experience is desired.Experience testing and configuring embedded controllers is desired. Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles.

Compensation:   

Base Pay Range: $ 70,000-120,000

This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
