Software Test Engineer
Description We are seeking a Software Test Engineer to join our team located in Westborough, Maryland. Your role will be to implement best-in-class test techniques and processes in a complex manufacturing environment. You will work closely with engineering production test engineers and external vendors to deliver high-quality products at the lowest cost. Responsibilities: • Foster an inclusive culture within the team • Implement manufacturing test strategies for robotic manipulation applications • Maintain detailed documentation of test procedures, specifications, and acceptance criteria for new and existing products • Design and implement automated test solutions, including electrical interfaces, interface test adapters, and software • Suggest design modifications to improve product manufacturability and testability • Control test equipment and devices under test using standard software tools • Assess and approve product electrical Engineering Changes Orders (ECOs) • Provide support for EOL test stations at local contract manufacturers and system integrators • Promote a safe working environment by adhering to all safety procedures • Travel as required for the role. Requirements • Proficiency in Python and other programming languages • 5 years of related work experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/test engineering focused environment. • Experience with debugging industrial robots such as Fanuc Rockwell Siemens PLCs IO-Link based control systems. • Functional knowledge of one or more programming languages LabVIEW/MATLAB/Python or similar • Demonstrated expertise in test strategy development ability to define test requirements and implement manufacturing EOL test solutions to support NPI programs • Experience in software development, specifically in testing and debugging applications • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interface with team members and external vendors • Strong understanding of office functions and operations • Familiarity with manufacturing procedures and quality control standards • Knowledge of design principles and production processes • Proficiency in working with computer systems and networking • Understanding of wireless technologies and robotics • Familiarity with Power BI tools • Adherence to safety guidelines and standards in the workplace • Knowledge of electrical systems and principles • Willingness to travel for business purposes • Experience with MATLAB software • Background in engineering, preferably in a related field.
