As a Software Test Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and performance of Ericsson’s EIM cloud-native service products. Your primary focus will be on end-to-end user experiences, and software quality including performance, reliability, efficiency, and service scalability. You will develop and execute comprehensive test procedures, create and maintain testing tools and scripts, and leverage both custom and industry-standard testing tools to achieve high-quality outcomes.
What you will do: Understand Customer Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of customer needs and service requirements, translating these into detailed test plans and procedures.Create Test Procedures: Design, develop, and document detailed test procedures for various aspects of the software, including end-to-end user experience, performance, scalability, stability, and robustness.Develop Testing Tools and Scripts: Create custom testing tools and scripts to facilitate comprehensive and efficient testing processes.Utilize Testing Tools: Employ industry-standard software testing tools and frameworks to automate and enhance testing capabilities.Build Automated Test Processes: Implement and maintain automated test processes to ensure consistent and repeatable testing across different environments.Execute Test Procedures: Perform thorough testing of software to identify issues, validate fixes, and ensure that the software meets specified requirements and quality standards.Document Tests: Maintain accurate documentation of test procedures, results, and any issues encountered during testing.Report Bugs: Identify, document, and report bugs and defects, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.Make Recommendations: Provide actionable recommendations for software improvements based on test findings, contributing to the continuous enhancement of the service.Collaborate with EIM Development and Operations teams in developing reusable tools and scripts for testing and operations.The skills you bring: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Experience: Proven experience in software testing with cloud-native services and public cloud environments. Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail and a strong problem-solving mentality.Technical Skills: Proficiency in creating and executing test scripts familiarity with automated testing frameworks, and experience with industry-standard testing and automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JMeter). Strong coding skills using shell and/or Python.Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and convey complex issues clearly and effectively.Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.Problem-Solving: Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.Preferred Skills:
Experience with cloud platforms such as (Azure preferred).Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.Front End (React) performance and dimensioning testing experience a plus.Why join Ericsson?
