Job Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. This role will design and integrate infrastructure for machine shop and factory floor applications, using both physical and cloud-based systems. This is a highly collaborative position that interfaces with Project Kuiper production, engineering, and IT teams.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop, configure, and deploy software solutions to provide automated test and manufacturing capabilities on the factory floor, working to requirements and priorities set by the GSE Automation team.Conduct end-to-end testing of automated manufacturing and test applications to ensure all requirements are being met before hand-off to production.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including teams in Production Operations, IT, and Digital Operations (KET), to ensure successful project execution and completion.Ensure that all integrated systems comply with internal IT and Security standards, with designs and code that is well-documented and version controlled.Contribute to the overall architecture for a high-performing, connected, safe, and maintainable factory.Essential SkillsProficiency in Python programming.Experience with test equipment.Knowledge of Git for version control.Understanding of embedded operating systems.Familiarity with controls equipment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with LabVIEW.Knowledge of SCADA systems.Work Environment

The Ground Support Equipment (GSE) team is responsible for designing and commissioning automation and tooling for Satellite testing and production. This in-house team of engineers and support technicians works directly with satellite designers, testers, and manufacturing engineers to solve unique problems in cutting-edge high-volume satellite production. This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position. You will work with leaders in multiple technology areas across Project Kuiper to define and develop automation systems to meet the program needs. In addition, you will be responsible for project management, cost estimates, and scheduling. You will work onsite 5 days a week, maintaining high standards for performance, quality, and cost. We seek individuals who are ready for this challenge and want to reach beyond what is possible today.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
