Software Test Engineer
KBR is seeking a Software Test Engineer to join an Integrated Product Team that oversees the development of an operational mission planning product for Naval Aircrew and Foreign Military Sales customers on-site at NAS Patuxent River, MD.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Assist in the design, development, and execution of test plans and test cases to ensure high-availability and performance of software development projects.
+ Perform system integration level functional testing for independent verification and validation (IV&V) of a scientific/engineering application.
+ Perform configuration change management (CM) and quality assurance control (QA) of software for scientific/engineering applications.
+ Execute manual and automated testing of software products.
+ Analyze, update, and validate system/program requirements.
+ Document and assist with resolving software discrepancies against documented requirements.
+ Determine software maintainability and overall adherence to user requirements.
+ Generate/update and ensure all testing documentation is produced and configuration controlled.
+ Encode, test, debug, and install operating programs and procedures.
+ Participate with engineering developers in the design, development, and utilization of data processing systems software.
+ Participate in the development of engineering test strategies, devices and systems.
+ Develop and maintain custom automated test framework using common methods, functions, routines, and procedures.
+ Evaluating COTS/GOTS solutions for alternative methods of testing.
+ Participating in automated test case development.
+ Managing dynamic technical source information for a mission planning software development project.
+ Create and maintain document repositories using Microsoft Test Foundation Server or Azure DevOps. Use Microsoft Team Foundation Server of Azure DevOps at the document management level to access and manage configured data. Controlled access to data and security of the digital information must be assigned and maintained.
+ Initiate, develop and manage process improvement using process templates in Team Foundation Server or Azure DevOps for the project. Other duties include collating, linking, and managing disparate and volatile technical source data attached to configured work items.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Clearance Requirement: US Citizen with existing Department of Defense security clearance or eligibility to gain a clearance.
Education: BS/BA degree and 2+ years of experience. Additional experience accepted in lieu of formal BS/BA degree.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ 3-5 years of documented related experience is desired.
+ Experience with Agile development practices.
+ Working knowledge of software test execution in one or more of the following areas: system-level testing, system-integration testing, user-acceptance testing, load testing and automated test scripting/execution.
+ Previous test planning and reporting experience.
+ Familiarity with NAVAIR software projects such as CMPC.
+ Experience with Azure DevOps (Microsoft Test Manager) and Visual Studio
+ Familiarity with JIRA.
+ Experience developing automated tests.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week.
Compensation: $85,700-128,600. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
