Software Test Technician

Description

The autonomous test engineer will be responsible for helping create and maintain an automated test environment for HVAC equipment that will be used to test controls functionality in virtual geographic environments.

This role requires the ability to work effectively with HVAC hardware and software development, software test and product development.

This role also requires the ability to analyze HVAC data using different data analysis tools. A background in HVAC applications is welcomed and preferred and will help resource to be successful.

This role will be 80%-90% manual testing and 20% Automated testing. The team is moving towards automation testing so please make sure that your candidates are ok with manual testing.

This team works on the Residential side of Trane building software development on thermostats.

NICE TO HAVE

Knowledge of HVAC, building control systems and devices a HUGE plus.

Ideal candidate is someone who has some HAVC experience but HM will also consider new graduates or interns from HAVC companies.

Candidates need some experience in Python, have a Linux background and an understanding automated test framework

Additional Skills & Qualifications

This consists in manual testing through bench testing and live units.

We are not looking for someone who has been developing codes & testing but someone who has experience with product level testing.

Summary:

MUST HAVE

AAS in Computer Science, Electronics or related discipline.

0-5 years of experience with quality testing

Experience with dynamic software/electro-mechanical systems

Build, test, and deploy supporting test systems

90% validation SW testing and some HW testing 10%-15%

Verbal and written communication skills, analytical thinking and problem solving ability MS Office Suite experience Experience with dynamic software/electro-mechanical systems Build, test, and deploy supporting test systems

Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.

5+ years of experience with quality testing /manual or automated

NICE TO HAVE

Knowledge of HVAC, building control systems and devices a plus.

HPE Quality Centre test case management system

Must be Local to MN
