Job Description
A local geotechnical firm is seeking a Soil Technician to join our team and work on various construction projects in the Seattle area. The successful candidate will operate a nuclear density gauge to conduct soil compaction testing and write comprehensive reports. Additionally, the role involves testing concrete and asphalt samples. This position is ideal for individuals with experience in engineering, geology, construction, or a related field who enjoy working in the field.
ResponsibilitiesOperate a nuclear density gauge to conduct soil compaction testing.Write detailed reports on soil compaction results.Test concrete and asphalt samples.Perform soil sampling and analysis.Ensure compliance with geotechnical and construction standards.Essential SkillsExperience in report writing.Proficiency in soil testing and soil sampling.Knowledge of nuclear density gauge operations.Working expereince in construction materials testing.2+ years of geotechnical field experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsNuclear Density Gauge certification required.Working experience in, Construction, Geology, or a related field preferred but not required.Work Environment
Meet at the office in Kirkland at 7 AM and head out into the field for the day, concluding the day at 4 or 5 PM by returning the vehicle to the office. Projects are located in the Seattle area. The work involves outdoor fieldwork, utilizing various geotechnical tools and equipment.
