Job Description

A local geotechnical firm is looking to add a Soil Technician to work on construction projects in the Seattle Area. The candidate will be operating a nuclear density gauge to conduct soil compaction testing and writing reports. Additionally, the candidate will be testing concrete and asphalt samples. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in the field. Experience in engineering, geology, construction, or a related field is required. Nuclear Density Gauge experience is preferred, and certification is required before starting.

ResponsibilitiesOperate a nuclear density gauge to conduct soil compaction testing.Write detailed and accurate reports on soil compaction.Test concrete and asphalt samples for quality and compliance.Conduct soil sampling and analysis.Collaborate with construction teams to ensure project specifications are met.Essential Skills2 years of geotechnical or environmental field experience.Nuclear Density Gauge certification.Proficiency in report writing.Experience in soil testing and sampling.Experience in Engineering, Construction, Geology, or a related field.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with construction materials testing.Knowledge of soil density and analysis techniques.Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles.Work Environment

The workday begins at the office in Kirkland at 7 AM, followed by fieldwork throughout the day. The day typically ends between 4 and 5 PM, with a return to the office to drop off the vehicle. Projects are primarily located in the Seattle area. This role involves working outdoors and in various weather conditions.
