The Solar Technician III will safely operate and maintain the turbines and Balance of Plant (BOP) at Orange Grove Solar. As an advanced technician with specialized knowledge, they will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on solar assets to enhance uptime and production.

What you will do:

Follow defined instructions and maintenance schedules, completing plans as directed and performing tasks according to reasonably detailed written and verbal instruction

Follow problem-solving processes to complete troubleshooting and diagnostic tasks (including use of tools such as a fluke meter, SCADA information, interpreting electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic drawings)

Assist in providing guidance and assistance to other technicians when issues arise outside of trained skill level to ensure successful execution of duties.

Ensure scheduled solar panel maintenance is conducted safely and completed on time. Ensure accurate time reporting and completion of maintenance records

Conduct tests and engage with people in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments. Support technical or safety investigations and complete related reports as needed

Perform daily interactions and data entry in the Maintenance Management System (Maximo)

Who you are:

You possess a college degree in an electrical field or a minimum of 3 years as a Red Seal 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician in good standing, along with at least 5 years of relevant work experience. Combination of education and experience will be considered

Advanced skills in scheduled/standard work, asset integrity inspections, and unscheduled maintenance Top-tier troubleshooting abilities (both basic and advanced)

Ability to read, interpret, and understand electrical drawings and schematics. Unwavering dedication to safety, including safety practices/protocols

Excellent digital literacy, including solid understanding of Microsoft Windows programs and SCADA

Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, and time management skills

Availability for unplanned or emergency events, a valid driver's license, and the ability to speak, read, comprehend, and write English

The successful candidate will undergo various background screening that includes but is not limited to a 5-year driving record, criminal check, a company sponsored medical and drug testing.

Pay scale range - $62K-$80K annually based on experience and education.

Physical requirements:

Include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, prioritize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, coordinate and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
