Miller Brother Staffing Solutions is seeking qualified candidate for a Soldering Specialist position with a company in Erie, PA. This is a 1st shift position with a pay range of $16-17/hour.

Shift: 1st 6am-2:30pm M-F

Job Summary
Soldering Specialists are an integral part of the team tasked with desoldering and soldering of surface mount and through-hole components for electronic
manufactured PCBA’s/CCA’s. Solder Rework Specialist must be able to assemble, modify, and repair electrical components to PCBA/CCA assemblies through verbal instructions, interpreting board diagrams, visual aids, and drawings. Rework Specialist is responsible for all of the repair and rework on complex printed circuit boards to IPC-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 specifications.
The Soldering Specialist will perform efficient, effective, and highly reliable surface mount and through-hole component replacement and repairs to a wide variety of electronic circuit boards, sub-assemblies, and top-level assemblies. Solder Rework Specialist must have experience in component level replacement
and have a former or current IPC soldering certification.
Duties Soldering and desoldering of surface mounted and plated through-hole electrical components utilizing both hand soldering irons and semi-automated and automated hot-air desoldering stations Hand soldering of through-hole, SMT, wires and terminals using both lead and lead-free alloys Inspection of printed circuit boards for defects and/or damage Use of illuminated bench magnifiers and low to high power microscopes to work with very small components Follow work instructions and router/traveler operations to complete necessary work Preparation of components for installation as required including forming components by hand or automated, bending leads, and preconditioning leads or wires Adherence to proper circuit board handling procedures while moving components and boards throughout processes. Performing transactions and inquiries in ERP system such as completing production move transactions, locating and reviewing work instructions and standard operating procedures, and clocking in and out of work orders Ability to read and interpret bill-of-materials (BOM) and assembly drawings, including notes, and interpret and validate soldering specifications/requirements Proficient in reading and performing Engineering Change Order (ECO) upgrades including production and modification of products to customer specification Familiar with standard technical concepts, standard technical practices, standard technical procedures, and with reading electrical prints for parts identification If not IPC certified, must be willing to get certified IPC-A-610 and to complete IPC-7711/21 Rework, Modification, and Repair of Electronic Assemblies Qualifications Previous soldering on electronics experience Working knowledge of mechanics and electrical systems IPC certification 610 quality standards Basic electronic component identification skills Strong analytical, problem solving and innovative solution capabilities Above average communication ability using strong listening skills and logical, systematic approach to assimilating and sharing information in all areas High school diploma or GED
