HDR is consistently ranked by ENR as one of the top Solid Waste Management firms in America. Our Charlotte, NC office is seeking a Senior Engineer with project management capabilities to join our nationally ranked team of professionals. This project management position will serve to support the solid waste program in the Carolinas, especially for project assignments and marketing efforts related to solid waste planning, design and construction for landfill and solid waste related facility projects. This individual will be expected to effectively manage multi-discipline project teams, work closely with national technical experts, maintain client satisfaction and achieve booking goals. They will also be expected to market and secure new work from existing and potential clients, coordinating the work of professional staff and subconsultants throughout projects assignments; perform engineering functions and complete project tasks; coordination with clients in the execution of work; and participating in industry associations. Additional duties system planning studies; economic analysis; and construction inspection activities. They must also demonstrate leadership experience in taking a project from planning through design, construction and to operations.

The Solid Waste Project Manager will also be expected to:

Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project’s lifecycle (from development and initiation to close-out)Be responsible for all aspects of complex small to medium projects or routine large projectsProduce and coordinate several small to medium projects concurrentlyEstablish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetingsConduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other staff and stakeholdersCoordinate staffing and workload through entire project life cycle, and ensure completion of deliverables on scheduleTrack financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and scheduleWork with the Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviewsImplement QA/QC proceduresPerform other duties as needed

Local candidates are preferredLI-SM1Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering 7 years related experience A minimum 2 years project management experience Professional Engineer (PE) license MS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access experience would be plus) Demonstrated leadership skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
