The Design Engineer will support a Deep-Sea Oil & Gas Product Development Project in Houston, Texas. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, developing, checking and releasing mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks, with a strong understanding of ASME Y14.5 standards for geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.\n

RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nDesign and develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.\nCreate and maintain detailed engineering drawings, including 2D schematics and 3D models.\nApply ASME Y14.5 standards to ensure accurate geometric dimensioning and tolerancing in all designs.\nManage the checking and releasing of SolidWorks drawings.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and project management, to ensure design feasibility and compliance with project requirements.\nConduct design reviews and provide technical support throughout the product development lifecycle.\nIdentify and resolve design issues and incorporate feedback to improve product performance and reliability.\nOther duties as assigned. \n\n

REQUIRED:\n

\n\nRequires bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial design, or a related field.\nMust have 5+ years SolidWorks experience creating complex 3D models and assemblies.\nProven experience as a Design Engineer with a strong portfolio of design projects.\nIn-depth knowledge of ASME Y14.5 standards for geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.\nExperience with additional CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, CATIA) is a plus.\nStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and analytically.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\nAttention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.\n\n

DESIRED:\n\nExperience in Deep Sea O&G projects.\nFamiliarity with manufacturing processes and materials.\n\n

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:\n

STANDARD BASTION REQUIREMENTS:\n\nMust have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.\nAll of Bastion's employees must be team players. \nAble to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.\nAble to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.\nMust have a strong work ethic and must be safety culture oriented.\nMust be organized with good time management skills.\nGenerally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.\nWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). \nMay require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).\nRegular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.\nAbility to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.\n\n
