Job Title: Mechanical Drafter
Job Description

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Drafter will be responsible for creating, modifying, and updating technical drawings for our company-wide product portfolio. The Mechanical Drafter will collaborate with the Engineering Team to create and develop engineered solutions to satisfy customer needs and complement industry and market trends for product expansion and growth. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a team-oriented environment, consistently collaborating on projects, while also having the capacity to work autonomously on daily, individual tasks.

ResponsibilitiesWork with the Engineering Team on product specifications, manufacturability, and other technical product aspects.Facilitate, update, and maintain the existing product drawing database to company-wide drawing and engineering standards.Create technical drawings, manufacturing schematics, 2D and 3D digital models of mechanical assemblies to relevant geometry constraints, specifications, and application parameters.Efficiently apply drafting skills while predominantly using the Dassault Systèmes platform to develop and engineer detailed concepts/illustrations daily.Act as the Engineering Team subject matter expert for drafting in SolidWorks and the effective utilization of the software.Provide drafting assistance during the conceptual development of non-standard projects and adaptation of industry standard units.Essential SkillsProficient in SolidWorks.Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA).Experience with SolidWorks PDM (Product Data Management).Detail-oriented with experience in inputting data and BOMs into SolidWorks plug-in systems.Associates Degree in Mechanical Drafting or Engineering Technology and 3+ years of experience, or High School Diploma and 5+ years of mechanical drafting experience.Mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial industry work experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsCertified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP).Experience with raw materials production processes and techniques.Work experience in the bearings industry.Work Environment

The work environment includes a new building with a very nice office and a big warehouse that is only at 50% capacity. The small engineering team is currently at 5 members, with plans to grow to 10 next year. The company offers a laid-back culture with a good work-life balance, opportunity for hybrid work, and schedule flexibility. The engineering team collaborates closely with application engineering/product engineering and the Quality CMM team. The facility handles 100,000 SKUs and brings in products from overseas, with 5 US distribution centers.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00
