Solidworks Drafter

We are looking for a talented and driven Mechanical Drafter to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our department, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative mechanical components and assemblies, collaborating closely with engineers, designers, and other departments to bring designs to life.

SolidWorks and CAD Proficiency:

SolidWorks Certified is a plus!Expertise in creating detailed 3D models and technical drawings for mechanical components and assemblies.Strong understanding and use of advanced SolidWorks tools such as Draft, Radius, Blending, Chamfer, and Spline.

Blueprints and Technical Drawings:

Ability to accurately interpret and produce technical drawings for manufacturing and assembly.In-depth understanding of mechanical principles and design best practices.

Testing and Analysis:

Experience in setting up and conducting tests for mechanical components and assemblies.Ability to analyze data, perform calculations, and contribute to cost estimations of parts and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:

Modeling: Create precise 3D models of mechanical components and assemblies in SolidWorks.Drafting & Documentation: Produce detailed technical drawings, dimensioning for fit and function, and assembly instructions.Assembly Simulation: Use SolidWorks tools to simulate and verify mechanical assembly processes.Exploded Views & Marketing Materials: Assist in creating exploded views and graphical representations for marketing purposes.Collaboration: Act as a liaison between Engineering and Marketing/Graphics departments, ensuring smooth communication and accurate designs.Cost Analysis: Work with engineers to analyze, calculate, and estimate costs of parts and assemblies.Testing & Documentation: Conduct mechanical tests and record results, providing recommendations for product improvements.Tool Utilization & Fabrication: Operate fabrication equipment and testing tools as necessary for the role.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:Associate degree in a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience, OR 3-4 years of hands-on experience without a degree.Technical Skills:Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD software.Strong mechanical knowledge, including the ability to create and interpret technical drawings.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of ASME 14.1 standards.Familiarity with advanced SolidWorks tools and features such as Draft, Radius, Blending, Chamfer, and Spline.Experience with SolidWorks Motion and Simulation is a plus.Ability to quickly detect and resolve clearance issues or component interferences in assemblies.Familiarity with rendering and visualizing designs in SolidWorks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
