Enterprise Architecture is an organization within the Chief Technology Office at American Express and it is a key enabler of the company’s technology strategy. The four pillars of Enterprise Architecture include:
Architecture as Code: this pillar owns and operates foundational technologies that are leveraged by engineering teams across the enterprise. Architecture as Design: this pillar includes the solution and technical design for transformation programs and business critical projects which need architectural guidance and support. Governance: this pillar is responsible for defining technical standards, and developing innovative tools that automate controls to ensure compliance. Colleague Enablement: this pillar is focused on colleague development, recognition, training, and enterprise outreach. How will you make an impact in this role? Defining future state of systems Ensuring EA design guidance and best practices are followed Work closely with the application teams on solutions design Analysis of the existing systems for flaws and weaknesses Providing clarity on end-to-end flows in the platform and its adjacent components Documenting and communicating the proposed solutions Improving software development processes Minimum Qualifications Ability to effectively interpret technical and business objectives and challenges and articulate solutions Very good communication skills to effectively communicate with various stakeholders Ability to take on, own and manage issues to conclusion Experience with any service oriented architectures Experience in designing and implementing large scale platforms with high resiliency, availability, and reliability 5+ years of software development experience Preferably a BS or MS degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical disciplineWe back our colleagues and their loved ones with benefits and programs that support their holistic well-being.
