SHI is seeking a Solutions Architect - AI Lab Manager responsible for developing, managing, and operating SHI's next-generation AI Lab. This role also involves actively supporting SHI’s pre-sales technical AI practice. The successful candidate will be crucial in helping the AI Lab, developing use cases, and handling various technical aspects of the lab's operations and maintenance. The ideal candidate should communicate confidently with SHI Account Executives and customers and have experience selling high-performance computing and AI solutions.

 

This position will report to the Director of AI Solutions Engineering and must report to the SHI Somerset, NJ office location.

Include but not limited to:

Build, manage, and operate SHI Next Gen AI Lab – including but not limited to Infrastructure build and maintenance, use case build out, lab operations, and monitoring and alertingLead and facilitate tours of SHI next Gen AI lab and data center factoryParticipate in the prototyping and testing of customer AI applicationsProduce whitepapers of case studies performed in the labPrimary contact for presales design and scoping of AI-enabled solutionsPerform technical presentations, AI Use Case demos, and assessments for customersArchitect and design AI-enabled solutions and configure proposal presentations around customer’s budget, existing entitlements, business needs, and environment restrictionsProvide documentation for design, including architectural diagramsIdentify and promote supporting technologies and SHI Professional Services leveraging extended SHI resourcesEnable internal teams and partner on AI solutions and SHI capabilitiesAlign with Sales Management for product solutions enablementParticipate in the SHI AI Center of Excellence and collaborate with key stakeholders supporting SHI AI practiceStay current with new technologies and innovations in AI Infrastructure, workload orchestration, MLOPS platforms, and GenAI applicationsMaintain certifications relevant to the job positionSupport SHI and present when applicable at relevant SHI customer and partner-facing eventsAssist with pipeline-building activities such as call blitzes or other demand-generation activity Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experienceA minimum of 10+ years’ of direct technical presales experience architecting customer solutionsA minimum of 12+ years designing data center scale HPC infrastructureExperience working in a customer-facing lab environmentStrong background in technologies that enable large-scale infrastructure, management of complex systems, networks, storage, and data center equipmentFamiliarity with job scheduling, workload orchestration, high-performance storage, and complex network topologies Required Skills Knowledge of building end-to-end AI workloads, including training, fine-tuning, inference at scale, agentic and RAG-based workflows, and model evaluationAdvanced certification or publications in AI, deep learning, or related fieldsProactive contributions to open-source projects or active involvement in tech communitiesSelf-study and independent work in lab facilities to increase job-related knowledge and skillsExcellent communication and presentation skillsStrong organization and time management skillsCreative and self-motivated mindsetAbility to work in high-profile, complex environmentsExceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical details for diverse audiencesPassion for staying updated with the latest technological advancements in AI, HPC, and related fields Unique Requirements Ability to travel as needed according to customer project requirements (less than 25%)Ability to work flexible schedules, evenings, and weekends according to project requirements Additional Information The estimated annual pay range for this position is $180,000 - $250,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual.
