Solutions Business Development Manager - West Division

Daikin Applied is seeking a Solutions Business Development Manager for our West Division. This role will provide leadership and management to the Solutions and Controls Project Team and will partner with Regional and District levels to develop Solutions strategy. This role will ensure goals and objectives are successfully achieved by delivering the portfolio of Solutions projects within prescribed scope, time, and funding parameters by the Project Team. Responsible for providing leadership initiatives to support corporate change efforts. Location: This role will be based within the West Division of Daikin Applied and includes extensive travel to all markets including Seattle, Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, and Denver.

What you will do: 

Oversee sales to project management turnovers and partner with project management on subcontracting, billing, startups, etc. to determine and ensure accurate funding, time frame, procedures, and staffing requirements are identified to accomplish a project. Manage and coordinate activities of Project Team to successfully perform all aspects of project administration including initiation, planning, manage & control, commission and close out. Understand financial impacts on customer’s P&L, utilities and rebates, implementation of state/local building codes, building processes, etc. Interact with customers to ensure their goals and objectives are being met. Anticipate and respond to the client’s needs and concerns. Plan, implement and continuously improve sales practices, project development, subcontractor selections, and project management best practices and tool sets to streamline project processes/procedures and maximize returns to all stakeholders. Partner with Regional and District levels for sales training and implementation of sales management disciplines. Manage the Project Team P&L to deliver the annual financial objectives. Participate in civic and business organizations. Conduct and maintain relationships with industry and trade associates, vendors, and professional organizations. Coach and develop employees in order to maximize performance and potential. Manage performance through recognition, regular feedback, performance reviews and/or corrective action. Recruit, interview, hire and ensure that training is provided for new employees. Ensures that on-going training and skill development is encouraged and provided for all employees.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. 12+ years’ experience; 8+ years in people leadership, project management and/or sales in commercial HVAC projects. Experience leading complex, multi-project initiatives for commercial HVAC. Demonstrated experience leading cross functional teams and communicating effectively at the C-level.

Preferred Qualification:

Masters of Business Administration. Certified Energy Manager. Energy Services experience strongly preferred.

Pay Transparency Verbiage

The typical salary for this position ranges from $150,000 - $205,000 + 30% bonus incentive plan on a national scale. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
