Job summary
Reporting to the Director of Solutions Engineering, Solution Engineers will partner with the sales organization to provide pre-sales technical support with activities such as requirements analysis; product and solution presentations both in person and remotely; RFP/RFI responses; and solution design documentation.
Additionally, Solutions Engineers provide technical guidance to the sales team and input to other stakeholders such as Product Management, Marketing, Support, and Engineering.
Solutions Engineers must have excellent written, oral communication, and listening skills. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to comprehend business requirements and synthesize solutions that meet the customer’s business and technical objectives.
This position is remote; however, it is preferred that someone resides on the East Coast.
What you will do
Establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales lifecycle, with a focus on scoping solutions within the existing technical capabilities while still delivering on and enhancing the account strategy. Understand and anticipate customer goals and challenges and map those back into the DigiCert Application Security and DNS portfolio. Design innovative solutions to address these challenges, build those solutions on our platform and present customized demonstrations back to the customers. Be able to present DigiCert’s Application Security and DNS service capabilities to both technical teams as well as business-oriented members within customers/prospects, leveraging a consultative style in interactive forums. Present DigiCert Application Security technology infrastructure, including demonstrating deep familiarity with hardware, software, networking and security stack. Participate in the right training to acquire and maintain the knowledge necessary to be effective. Detail oriented with exemplary organization and communication skills (written, verbal, white boarding and presentation) balanced with equally strong listening, interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Function effectively in a fast-paced high-energy market segment and successfully balance multiple projects in a team-selling environment. Roughly 25-35% travel.
What you will have
3+ years of experience as a customer facing Pre-Sales Engineer or related discipline. Internet security technologies including DDoS and DDoS mitigation, Firewalls, TLS. Networking technologies including DNS, TCP, UDP, DNS, IPv4 + IPv6, BGP routing, GRE, Global Traffic Management. HTTP technologies including reverse proxy (e.g., WAF and CDN). Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
