The role is responsible for the configuration and support of PMM platforms and applications based on prioritised business requirements and imperatives, combined with management of technical debt.
The role also has a critical focus on delivering operational support to the PMM team ensuring excellent service is delivered 24x7 across the global operation. A review of current platform capability, technical design and performance, and support needs to be developed with a view to simplify, improve performance and optimise total cost of ownership.Principal accountabilities
Stakeholder management & leadership
Coordinate with business users, external support partners and vendors to manage and maintain all PMM related systems Effectively partner with the business to understand the business requirements to reflect into engineering reality Guiding the business and delivery/support partner during delivery of solutions – offering challenge to ensure focus on value deliveryParticipate in platform governance forums, representing the engineering perspective, and promoting good practice agile working practices, and project delivery practicesStrategy & Planning
Lead the strategy and roadmap for in scope platforms, working closely with the engineering teams, stakeholders, and business leaders to align the platform and product with the company's goals and objectivesDefine and prioritize platform features and capabilities, working with business units to ensure that the platform is responsive to customer needs and aligned to product requirementsTechnical capability
Ensure the platform is secure, scalable, and high performing, monitoring key metrics and KPIs, identifying and addressing issues, and proactively identifying opportunities to optimize performance and enhance the customer experienceManage an external support capability providing critical 24/5 operational and L2/L3 support and maintenance, working with support partners and vendorsParticipate in configuration reviews with engineering team and suppliers by instilling new ways of thinking to improve design, quality etc. to drive higher engineering productivity and quality while driving standardisation and modularisation Design and implement technical solutions. Drive configuration of the applications as per the business requirements in collaboration with JM team and vendorsOversee JM IT and supplier delivery teams during build to ensure functional and technical solutions are developed as per design and support development teams with queries as they occurEnsure that technical debt is minimised for the platform / product to ensure the platform / product quality and performance is seamless Act as SMEs of their platform and processes, able to understand what capabilities a platform has to resolve user needs and impacts within a process when changes are proposedUndertake troubleshooting of application issues and resolve the issues; liaison with the software providers in case the issue could not be resolved internally Resolve technical and service issues of users, escalate wherever necessary Create and maintain detailed solution documentation in line with JM IT engineering and architectural methodology to document solutions for approval at review boardsEnsure adherence to regulatory compliances and adherence to audit findings; undertake improvements as requiredInnovation
Identify common reusable components across platforms and products to ensure greater efficiency and scalability Ensure optimisation of the engineering lifecycle through a systematic knowledge management and continuous learning process to better enable the organization to meet market and client needsPlatform Skills (non-exhaustive)
Platforms supporting the PMM team, are built around Ion Group’s Endur/Openlink products, hosted on-premise within JM. To be successful in this role skills and experience across the following capabilities are critical:
Understanding of commodity trading and risk management Understanding of treasury operations and financial instruments:Knowledge of financial markets and instrumentsTechnical expertise in OpenLink Endur architecture and scripting languages, such as AVS, JVS, and Connex.Experience with SQL and databases System integration: developing/utilising APIs in integrating Endur, IT2 with other financial systems and ensuring seamless data flow.Skills in reporting and data analytics Business analysis skills Knowledge of Azure Cloud services.IT infrastructure knowledgeExperience with regulatory compliance related to trading systems, as Endur is often used to ensure compliance with various financial regulations.
