Sonography Special Imaging Clinical Supervisor Job Responsibilities:

Explains procedures to patients/families and answers any questions to ease patients' anxiety and ensure the safety/cooperation of patients. Communicates effectively with patients to obtain a clinical history from patients or patients' charts to assist medical staff in optimizing performance and interpretation of examinations. Assists medical staff in performing a variety of exams by utilizing department policies/protocols, isolation precautions, and sterile techniques as required. Ensures that infection control standards are met to ensure the safety of patients and team members. Demonstrates proper care and aseptic cleaning of all patient-related equipment by following established infection control guidelines to ensure quality patient care is administered at all times.        Recognizes clinical and/or emergent situations that may interfere with exams and takes appropriate action to resolve them and produce the most desirable outcomes. Coordinates, evaluates, and participates in divisional/departmental education and annual competencies. Maintains accurate record keeping and statistics for accreditation.

 

Sonography Special Imaging Clinical Supervisor Additional Requirements:

Work schedule: Full-time  Education: Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), certification as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. Must have RVT/RVS/VS with specialty in Vascular or Neurosonology or RDCS/RCS with a specialty in Adult Echo, Fetal Echo or Pediatric Echo or RDMS/ARRT with at least two sonographer specialties (i.e. OB/GYN, Breast, AB). Licensure: None required Certification: Basic Life Support Upon Start; ARRT, ARDMS, RDMS or RVT certification as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or must be registry eligible and obtain certification within 18 months from date of hire Experience: Five years of experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in a hospital/healthcare environment
