UPMC Western Maryland is seeking Sonographers to join their team of life-changers!

We’re currently hiring for full-time and casual positions. These positions will work various shifts, including weekend and holiday rotations. The Sonographer performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. They competently perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative, in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

If applicable, positions may qualify for a Sign-on Bonus of $6,000 in exchange for a 2-year work commitment with UPMC!

*Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the Sonographer Career Ladder, based on their individual experience and education.

*Sonographer rates start at $29.76/hr

*Sonographer Adv. rates start at $31.25/hr. 

Responsibilities:

Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors. Assists physicians with invasive procedures, adhering to universal protocol standards. Interacts with patients and co-workers, displaying caring, listening, dignity, and respect. Communicates instructions clearly to patients, explaining procedures to alleviate fears. Ensures exams are properly coded, tracked, networked, and charges entered. Identifies patients using two identifiers and reviews patient history and physician orders. Documents patient history in electronic records as required. May handle High-Level Disinfection of devices, supplies, and equipment. Obtains and documents cross-sectional anatomy images, correlating measurements with data charts. Performs technical ultrasound procedures, using appropriate instrumentation and techniques.
