Full Time

The Staff Sonographer performs departmental ultrasound examinations, assists the radiologists during 

procedures, produces high quality images. Serves the following age – specific patient populations:  pediatrics, 

adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Preferred 1 to 3 years of experience as a staff US technologist

Essential Key Job ResponsibilitiesUses two patient identifiers Compares doctor’s order to requisition for accuracy Performs the correct examIncludes all anatomy required to produce an adequate exam.Practices safe use of Cidex or Trophon when cleaning probesRoutinely demonstrates the ability to prioritize workload.Coordinates multiple exams into the proper sequence to ensure no conflicts of exams.Assesses the doctor’s order and the patient’s diagnosis to determine optimal images. Assesses patient’s condition, comfort, and safety during procedures.Observes and reports to physician any change in patient’s condition during the procedure.Communicates accurate patient information in a timely manner to peers, physicians, and other  departments.Uses all diagnostic, computer, and communication equipment within safe limits.Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent

Graduate of accredited school of Ultrasound

Must be registered in ARDMS within 1 year of hiring

Basic Life Support (BLS) per the American Heart Association

All diagnostic imaging approved instrumentation, computers and communication equipment.
