Job Summary

The sonographer is accountable for: Assists/maintains computer data for all the work done. Assures that studies completed are available to the Radiologist or appropriate physician. Demonstrates appropriate monitoring techniques & use of equipment and supplies. Maintains care of probes, sterilization and safety. Performs diagnostic ultrasounds and assures that studies completed are available for radiology interpretation and viable to appropriate physicians. 

Education and/or Experience

Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; six months to one year related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. One to two years of additional ultrasound experience/training preferred. ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) Registered as a diagnostic sonographer and/or registered vascular technology (RVT) with an accrediting body such as the ARRT or ARDMS. Required.  New Graduates must have initial registry within 12 months of hire. BLS (Basic Life Support) is required within 6 months of hire and must be maintained.

License/Certification/Registration

Work Schedule

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. The actual hourly rate is dependent upon experience.

$28.75 - $43.50 per hour
