Overview

Responsible for performing obstetrical and gynecologic ultrasound examinations at a technical level in accordance with department protocols and applicable regulatory requirements.  Is held accountable for policies and procedures of the department and organization.  This position supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of CommonSpirit Health.

Responsibilities
Produce high quality ultrasound images and obtain appropriate measurements for each examRecognize the sonographic appearance of normal and abnormal tissue structures and provide the best image quality for documentationInstructs and educates patient regarding the ordered test and prepares the patient for the procedureAble to access PACS, review studies, and perform basic functions for image manipulations.  Resolve QA issues, close studies as reviewed, burn CD’s, transfer images, and print from PACS.Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate formsMaintains order, stock, and cleanliness of all areas in the departmentPractices safe work habits, compliance with safety rules and regulations, and adheres to safety policiesUtilizes resources appropriately and follows facility guidelines, policies, and procedures
Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

Graduate of an accredited college or technical program for Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Required Licensure and Certifications

RDMSBLS-CPR

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

Strong oral communications skillsAbility to deal with conflict and difficult peopleStrong critical thinking skillsKnowledge of all regulatory agencies and their standards and processesAbility to manage multiple priorities
