Shift: Varied Hours

What you will do:

Performs Ultrasound procedures on scheduled shifts including emergency callback, operating ultrasound equipment.

· Provides patient/family or caregiver education and counseling in recognition and solution of physical, emotional, and environmental health problems.

· Serves as a mentor and resource for other Sonographers.

· Collaborates with interpreting providers on protocol development and new exams/procedures.

· Promotes professionalism with the department, hospital, and community; acts as a role model and demonstrates a positive attitude.

· Demonstrates proficiency in performing all exams as assigned. Maintains the physical environment of the department in a clean, well-stocked, orderly manner.

Qualifications:

Successful completion of an accredited two-year Ultrasound and/or Vascular Technologist training program.

· Registered by the ARDMS in a minimum of Abdominal and/or Vascular certifications

· Maintains active registry status with ARDMS

· 2 or more years employment at Mercy Medical Center as a Sonographer or 3 or more years Sonography experience.

· Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire, and maintained.

· Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.

· Handle charge responsibilities as needed.
