Here we do more than work — we thrive. Sophomore Leadership Intern Program (SLIP) The Sophomore Leadership Intern Program is an immersive job shadowing experience into the world of auto finance. As an intern in our program, you'll gain insight about the auto finance industry and learn about various career opportunities while shadowing alongside dedicated team members during the 8-week program. You will have the opportunity to explore and develop your skills in a business environment while building a strong foundation for your future career. The internship will focus on exposing key aspects of the auto lender and dealership relationship including sales, marketing, finance, pricing, and dealer operations. Throughout the program, students will also gain an understanding of GM Financial’s core values, strategic priorities and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our program offers: • 8 weeks of observational learning (job shadowing) • Executive and peer networking opportunities • Exposure to independent and team projects • Mentorship from professionals in your career area of interest Responsibilities JOB DUTIES • Learn about General Motors Financial and our various lines of business • Hear about our corporate initiatives focusing on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion • Explore the variety of careers within GM Financial including Finance, Information Technology, Accounting, Sales, Digital Marketing and more! • Participate in leadership development workshops Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate degree program from an accredited minority serving institution (HBCU or HSI preferred) Rising sophomore or junior that plans to graduate in Spring 2027 – Spring 2028 Possess a minimum of a 2.8 (out of a 4 point scale) overall GPA Strong written and verbal communication skills Detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines Able to complete the entire internship (eight weeks from May 21, 2025 - July 11, 2025) Leadership experience is a plus Additional Recruitment Information This internship will take place at our corporate office in Fort Worth, Texas and surrounding locations (Arlington, TX and Irving, TX)
