Caring Transitions of Great Neck delivers professional, courteous, personalized services to help the elderly and their families in times of transition. We manage relocations and downsizing, we conduct online auctions and estate sales, and we perform environmentally friendly clean-outs.
In this role, you will be assisting in clients’ homes. Our goal is usually to completely empty the house, making it ready for sale.
Caring Transitions is a national franchise brand, with over 300 locations around the US. We are the largest provider of senior relocation services in the country!
Duties include (but are not limited to):Sorting and organizing client’s household belongings for packing, moving, selling, donating or disposal.Online auction or estate sale preparation and setup: Grouping items into lotsStaging and photographing lotsWriting descriptions of lots and uploading to our CTBIDS.com auction platformAttending auction pick-up days and in-person estate salesHelping customers with their purchasesOverseeing estate sale activityPacking and shipping purchased items to winning biddersCarefully packing/boxing household items to be movedUnpacking boxes and resettling: Putting away items and helping the customer settle in their new homeMoving supplies/boxes within the customers’ homesLight cleaningInteracting with customers and their families
Hours: Part-time, variable hours Monday-Friday and occasionally Saturdays. Shifts generally will not exceed 6 hours. There is no guarantee of work. Shifts become available when jobs are sold.
Pay: $18/hr to start

Required for the job:Must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record and reliable source of transportationMust agree to a background check Fluent in spoken and written EnglishMust be able to lift 30 poundsMust be able to stand/walk for extended periodsMust have a smartphone (for scheduling, time-keeping, project management and processing auction items)What we look for in a candidate:Maturity; life experienceComfortable speaking with customersPatience, empathy and compassion – we work with a vulnerable clienteleSelf-motivated and willing to learnA team player; enjoys working with and being around othersReliability and integrityIn good physical condition as there could be repetitive lifting, bending, and standingComfortable working in a dusty or dirty environment at times. Masks and gloves are provided if wanted.This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to make extra money while helping others, and who doesn’t require a consistent work/schedule.
