Sourcing and Readiness Team Member
Position Overview International Procurement has an exciting opportunity for a Sourcing and Readiness team member. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all Purchasing activities, for your assigned direct material categories, from the initial part release through new product launch. You will be responsible for delivering against the key program objectives in terms of timing, total cost, and quality. This includes quoting and sourcing per the predefined category strategy and managing your supplier readiness and component industrialization from tool kick off through product / program launch. This is a highly visible, very challenging and rewarding position in a supportive, fast paced environment. Responsibilities Being the liaison between Sourcing and Readiness and the CMT’s (Category Management Teams) for your assigned commodities. Provide open and frequent updates. Interact with vendors and cross functional teams to source products, per the CMT strategy, that meet the cost and timing targets for the program. Negotiate all aspects of cost, piece price, tooling, packaging etc., Support CCB meetings to review cost and timing expectations. Support and resolve PUR issues that impact the International manufacturing facilities ability to line set units. Work with the program team on supporting all pilot or program build events. Create implementation plans with suppliers that support program timelines. Anticipate potential problems, be proactive and manage changes to ensure projects are on time and within budget. Manage tight deadlines in a high volume, fast paced environment. Conduct regular report outs on the work status. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree At least 2 years of purchasing/procurement experience OR Master's degree OR At least 4 years of purchasing/procurement experience Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Familiarity with commercial vehicle, bus or similar vehicles desirable. A strong understanding of Procurement. Excellent project management, organizational and communication skills Ability to analyze product costs and understand underlying cost drivers. Negotiation experience Critical thinking and analytical skills Ability to anticipate and solve problems, prioritize work.
