Sourcing Associate
The University Procurement Office is seeking a **_Sourcing Associate_** who will be responsible for conducting a variety of routine procurement activities or services in accordance with policies, standard practices, sound business and ethical practices. Performs assignments that require basic knowledge of requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, contracts and other related documents as necessary supporting all procurement requirements for assigned internal customer group(s). The **Sourcing Associate** will be assigned to either the Administration, Facilities & Construction (AF&C) or Laboratory, Scientific & Academic (LSA) Category Team and report to the Team’s Category Manager in support of sourcing portfolio initiatives. **Specific Duties and Responsibilities** + Acts as customer service representative to end users. + Serves as the first point of contact for inquiries related to the AFCL&S Sourcing Team and will assist, advise, resolve basic concerns and route communications that need further review to the appropriate Procurement Department staff member. + Reviews incoming requests for clarity, accuracy and completeness and aids in optimizing value across all expenditures by ensuring end-user compliance to preferred contract and procurement policies and procedures. + Advises and trains campus personnel and outside suppliers on procurement policies and procedures. + May recommend updates for procurement policies and procedures. + Works with Accounts Payable and other departments to resolve delivery, suspense, quality and payment problems. + Identifies and maintains on-line goods and services catalogs. + Monitors and follows applicable laws and regulations. + Performs other duties as assigned. **Special Skills and Knowledge** + Ability to process multiple projects, set priorities, and work independently to meet objectives. + Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing and organizational skills. + Computer skills, including MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Access. + Strong analytical and financial skills. + Knowledge of E-Procurement and SAP is a plus. **Minimum Qualifications** + High School Diploma or graduation equivalent required. + Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Buyer role required or other related experience.    + Additional education may substitute for required experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. **Preferred Qualifications** + Bachelor’s Degree preferred. + Experience working in a highly decentralized organization or academic research institution preferred.
