We are looking for a Category Manager to join the Category Management team to support GE account in a global Professional Services categories including Consulting, Financial Services, Marketing, Human Resources, Legal, and Temporary Labor. The ideal candidate has a strategic demeanor – specifically, the ability to bring together industry data, business requirements, regional perspectives, and analytics to develop and implement a category strategy for the assigned category of spend – and the ability to drive results that timely meets targets while delivering a high level of customer service.

About Source to Pay (S2P) and Indirect Sourcing (IS): S2P supports clients in every sector. Indirect Sourcing is part of S2P who’s remit is to provide Sourcing services to Client’s who desire to shift from inhouse sourcing teams to an external service provider. IS is organized by category groupings based on market/spend taxonomy including Professional Services, Labor Services, MRO, Facilities Management, and IT Services.
As part of Genpact’s IS function, this Sourcing Manager is responsible to define and execute sourcing events for HR and Legal categories for multiple Client programs. Activities include developing Client specific Category Management strategy, plan, and execution; Develop and maintain client stakeholder relationships to understand their sourcing needs; Define and develop a sourcing strategy and subsequent supplier negotiation plans; and Manage RFx process for mid-level to strategic events to drive savings for Client and mitigate legal and financial risk on their behalf.
This role requires working directly with Clients as well as connecting within the broader Indirect Sourcing Category Management and S2P teams. The major interaction will be with the English-speaking customers, in the process of sourcing project planning and execution.
Responsibilities· Role focused on Professional Services categories including HR, Legal, Consulting, Financial Services, Marketing, and Temporary Labor.
· Support Senior Sourcing Leader to create annual Category strategies for sub-categories supporting overall Professional Services category strategy in accordance with process and needs as defined by Client. Strategy to include market insights and key indicators w/impact to Client, spend analysis, supplier analysis, actionable sourcing plans by supplier, best practices, and transitional thinking for Client to consider meeting their goals.
· Develop and foster positive Client stakeholder relationships to understand their sourcing needs.
· Define and develop a sourcing strategy and subsequent supplier negotiation plans.
· Identify new sources of supply to include in RFx process including capabilities, NDAs, and fit with Client needs.
· Manage complete RFx process for mid-level to strategic events with intent to drive savings to meet contractual commitments defined in Client agreement and to mitigate legal and financial risk on their behalf.
· RFx process includes:
o Draft requirement or specification to document business requirements (i.e., SOW, position posting, etc.).
o Create RFx documents, coordinating supplier RFIs, analyzing responses.
o Develop supplier negotiation plan as needed.
o Pre-qualify suppliers, evaluate supplier quotations utilizing appropriate negotiation and purchasing analysis techniques, and implement contracts with emphasis on quality, price, delivery, and service necessary to meet requirements, order processing negotiations with supplier, savings tracking, compliance, infrastructure projects, Policy, and Procedure Formulation Material Management etc.
o Working knowledge on ERPs such as Coupa etc. and other tools used in sourcing processes is an added advantage.
· Contract management related support to the Client sourcing team including identifying expiring contracts, liaise with client stakeholders, contract management team to extend or terminate contracts, initiate legal contract with the help of Client contract management team based on agreed templates and clauses, monitor contract compliance.
· Work with Client category leaders to develop alternate sources to single source relationships and evaluate incumbent and/or new sources.
· Work with new and incumbent suppliers to simplify purchasing for end customers by creating catalogues, punch-out sites, and digitization. Consider Genpact’s AI focus to help solve Client business problems.
· Communicate and present results throughout the sourcing process to variety of audiences -- Clients, Client Sourcing teams, and internally to Genpact leadership and across Genpact’s multiple business verticals.
· Find ways to apply Genpact’s Sourcing Workbench tools to help manage and communicate more effectively, improve sourcing productivity, and drive sourcing savings for Client/s.
Qualifications we seek in youMinimum Qualifications/Skills· Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college or a high school diploma and strong of sourcing experience
· Willing to work in different time-zones and geographic regions to connect with Genpact’s Sourcing teams and Client teams.
· Strong communication and presentation skills a must to demonstrate executive presence and build confidence with Clients.
· Indirect Sourcing experience in Category Management, Sourcing process, supplier, and stakeholder relationship management.
· Candidate should have solid and proven track record of handling and managing Professional Services categories.
· Demonstrated professional verbal/written communication and negotiation skills in English
· Knowledge of category markets, impacts of regulatory and legislation changes, changes in supply base (mergers acquisitions and new entrants), and new technology w/impact to Clients.
· Strong quantitative and analytical skills, and database proficiency and Strong interpersonal skills and leadership skills and an eye towards detailing
· Problem solving ability, productivity while working efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills· Able to demonstrate executive presence and build confidence with Clients.
· Previous experience as consultant, within Sourcing or other business discipline, would be helpful.
· Leadership acumen to support needs of growing Client base.
· Culturally astute - able to work across global/regional teams, Clients, and suppliers.
· Strong interpersonal skills – ability to communicate effectively at all levels within Genpact’s organization as well as Client organizations.
· Experience developing training material, conducting training sessions across IS and Clients would be beneficial.
· Experience hosting virtual training and/or QA sessions would be beneficial.
· Having worked in a multinational company and managed the team will be an added advantage.
"The approximate annual base compensation range for this position is $105,000 to $120,000. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package plus benefits will be determined by a number of factors which include but are not limited to the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities; geographic location; and internal equity."
