Location:
The Sourcing Manager Chemical and Contract Manufacturing is a remote position from the US with the ideal location in Savannah, GA or Eastern Seaboard. Travel is required to meet with key partners and support business needs.
Your Role:
The Sourcing Manager - Chemicals / Contract Manufacturing - Surface Solutions is a member of the international Surface Solutions Sourcing Team and reports to the Head of Sourcing - Surface Solutions in Germany. The successful candidate will oversee select 3rd party direct spend and category management for Surface Solutions in the US as well as for select international sourcing projects and categories. This position requires close collaboration with product management, operations, supply chain and R&D functions to ensure that sourcing strategies are developed and implemented in alignment with Surface Solutions’ goals. Within the ongoing transformation of Surface Solutions, Sourcing Manager will be part of the transformation project and contribute towards successfully transitioning Surface Solutions Sourcing by e.g. onboarding indirect sourcing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
This Sourcing Manager Chemical and Contract Manufacturing is responsible for developing and implementing supply strategies and projects to deliver financial savings, ensuring supply security and improving on sustainability.
You will further be responsible for:
Managing the sourcing categories (direct/indirect) for Surface Solutions’ US spend and select international categories/products/projectsManaging supplier and stakeholder relationships for Surface Solutions in the US and overseasDriving supplier management activities such as negotiating, awarding, and contracting; accompanying supplier qualifications, supplier audits; conducting supplier business reviews and performance evaluationsCollaborating and coordinating with local & global internal functions to understand and manage the demand, clarify specifications and business needs to maximize the potential outcome for Surface SolutionsDriving and contributing to procurement transformation projects with full accountability to strengthen sourcing at Surface Solutions
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain, or operations management or other related discipline or equivalent experience and knowledge in lieu of education5+ years’ experience in direct sourcing of chemicals or in materials businesses, supply chain, logistics or commercial business environment20% Domestic and International travel required
Preferred Qualifications:
Results oriented and experienced in collaborating internationallyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProfessional negotiation and contracting skills, considerate of legal and regulatory requirementsIndependent problem solving/decision making and the ability to handle multiple, opposing prioritiesWillingness to travel within US and abroadExperience in the cosmetics/contract manufacturing businessExperience in indirect sourcing (logistics / maintenance, repair & operations, utilities, …)Solid understanding of purchasing processes and ERP systems (SAP/ARIBA preferred)
