Sourcing - Materials Commodity Productivity Leader
**Job Description Summary** The Commodity Productivity Leader will be the owner of the productivity KPI/metric. Using both project management and strategic leadership skills, this role will be responsible for creating and owning a cohesive plan to achieve commodity cost targets. **Job Description** **Job Description** : + Own the commodity productivity KPI/metric. + Lead creation of a cost strategy to achieve business targets in partnership with Commodity Strategy Leader/s and CPMs. + Own top cost initiatives (also known as ‘big swings’) for a commodity. + Negotiate directly with suppliers to achieve commodity targets. + Lead efforts to establish & proactively resource and fund a multi-year project pipeline. + Own commodity productivity action plan. + Lead internal commodity cost operational rhythms with CPMs, Buyers, and Value Engineers. + Engage & secure support from resources external to commodity (i.e Design, Engine Programs, etc.) to accelerate cost productivity projects. + Represent the Commodity on sourcing-wide cost forums and reviews with Product Line teams (cost council, PMO meetings, AUC review, etc). + Participate in continuous improvement projects to mitigate inflation (Cost PSR) and reduce productivity execution delays. + Partner with the Sourcing Product Line and Cost teams to create/improve processes. + Drive commodity to use Prodigy as the single source of truth for cost. + Own Prodigy ‘health’, which includes solving Prodigy Issue logs and loading accurate information. + Teach and mentor productivity principles to CPMs, Buyers, Value Engineers, and others. + Drive collaboration across supplier teams to scale successful cost-approaches and lessons learned. + Utilize lean principles and participate in kaizen events to improve product cost. + Support Finance on cost validation process. + This role requires the ability to work across organizational boundaries to deliver productivity by aligning internal GE teams. **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 6 years of experience in Manufacturing) + At least 5 years of experience in Sourcing and Materials Management **Desired Characteristics:** + Experience working with suppliers and knowledge of closed die forgings, isothermal forgings, rings forgings, and billet space. Including an understanding of the metal reclamation process (revert). + Working knowledge of source controlled drawings and their implication on sourcing changes. + Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This role is expected to close on 11/30/2024. _This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
