Sourcing Specialist-Faculty Group Practice (FGP) (Hybrid position)

Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sourcing Specialist-Faculty Group Practice (FGP).

In this role, the successful candidate as the Faculty Group Practice (FGP) Sourcing Specialist reports directly to the FGP Sourcing Manager. The Specialist will be responsible for providing strategic sourcing services on FGP spend to NYU Langone Health based on predefined service levels. Specialist will request, review, and execute contracts from start to finish. The Specialist will collaborate with internal teams, including but not limited to Data Management, Purchasing, Clinical Supply Chain, and Planning and Operation. The Specialist will also work with external end users at the various FGP sites, serving as the point of accountability for Sourcing throughout the FGP project lifecycle. The Specialist will be responsible for collaborating with and providing direction to the Sourcing Admins.

Job Responsibilities:

Analyzation Skills – Must possess the skills to interpret and analyze data both financially and qualitatively in order to present and interpret outcomes. Must be able to explain and convey data to all end users. Must be able to identify sourcing opportunities from data. Contract Background – Must be able to analyze contracts, terms and conditions, and ramifications of contractual verbiage as it relates to the product, service, supplier in question and those ramifications within the hospital. Develop contracts supporting our business requirements, including clearly defined service expectations/goods specifications, performance measurement practices and shortfall remedies. Cost Savings – will identify, implement and quantify strategic sourcing savings opportunities. Business Process Optimization – will partner with internal clients to improve business processes within (but not limited to) Supply Chain Department Assesses Needs and Initiate Sourcing Projects – Supports Sourcing Manager/Sourcing Leader in initiating new projects based on high spend profile, potential for savings, upcoming contract expirations, process improvement,  and other related value add.  Assist internal clients’ specific needs and define supplier performance expectations. Sourcing Strategies – Supports Sourcing Manager/Sourcing Leader in defining strategies that optimize value in light of requestor/end-user needs and market conditions. Apply project management skills that achieve project timing and service and savings objectives. Market Evaluations – Gather and interpret market and competitive intelligence through formal and informal processes. Assist in evaluating supplier capabilities to meet our needs through fair and thorough techniques. Supplier Selection and Contracting – Establish business cases supporting sourcing recommendations. Conduct negotiations with suppliers on pricing and contractual terms and conditions and develop contracts supporting our business requirements, including clearly defined service expectations/goods specifications, performance measurement practices and shortfall remedies. Relationship Management – Partner with requestor/end-user to implement efficient ordering routines that include appropriate controls. Assist departments implement sourcing changes, especially if moving to a new supplier and for more significant spends and services. Relationship Building – Obtain requestor/end-user feedback to ensure alignment/expectations are consistent with their departmental goals. Work with requestor/end-user to periodically review supplier effectiveness; remain abreast of evolving needs and keep requestor/end-user aware of evolving market capabilities. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Minimum of three (3) years, strategic sourcing responsibilities for various commodities both products and services within and outside healthcare organizations of work experience in operational, procurement, sourcing.
High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc).
Knowledge of procurement/sourcing process

o Strong interpersonal skills with an attention to detail, follow through and accountability;

o Self-start, ability to lead assigned responsibilities with minimal direction;
o Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
o Strong time management skills, ability to meet deadlines on a timely basis;
o History working collaboratively with cross functional teams is a plus;
Knowledge and understanding of sourcing/procurement.
Ability to follow a process based on documented guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $81,325.15 – $85,987.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
