Are you ready to take your career to the next level?
 
We are looking for an experienced Sourcing Specialist to join our Professional Services Business Line (PSE) team at Metso. PSE is at the heart of our business, overseeing all labor-related services with a focus on profitability and efficiency. As a Sourcing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing sourcing strategies that enhance our total cost of ownership and operational efficiencies. You will also ensure that our suppliers meet Metso’s high standards for quality, health, safety, and sustainability.
 
In this position, you will report to the Sourcing Director, PSE.
 
This position is primarily based in Mesa, AZ, but we offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. Occasional travel (up to 25%) may be required.
 
What You’ll Do:
 
•    Optimize Supply Chain: Design a streamlined supply footprint to minimize acquisition costs and ensure on-time delivery.
•    Contract Management: Create, negotiate, and implement contracts with suppliers.
•    Cost Reduction: Direct cost reduction projects with suppliers.
•    Problem Solving: Resolve interface issues between Sourcing and Engineering, removing barriers to ensure seamless deliveries.
•    Cost Management: Effectively control incurred costs, including those from internal providers (Service centers and Factories).
•    Support Engineering: Assist the Engineering team in implementing a “design to cost” strategy.
•    Process Improvement: Establish acquisition processes and implement tools to track delivery status.
•    Supplier Qualification: Develop and implement supplier qualification processes.
•    Capability Assessment: Assess supplier capabilities and define actions to ensure compliance with our Quality, HSE, and Sustainability standards.
•    Technical Support: Provide technical support to ensure supplier readiness and capability.
•    Performance Management: Hold suppliers accountable by communicating performance metrics, creating corrective action plans, and ensuring expectations are met.
•    Demand Management: Monitor supplier demand and expedite purchase orders.
•    Performance Improvement: Facilitate execution of supplier performance improvement plans and collaborate with internal partners to resolve issues.
•    Target Setting: Develop relevant supplier management targets, dashboards, and communication strategies.
•    Additional Duties: Perform other functions as assigned.
 
Who You Are:
 
•    Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher.
•    Experience: Over 10 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, and supplier development.
•    Expertise: Proficient in strategic procurement, cost modeling, contract management, supplier development, and total cost of ownership.
•    Technical Skills: Advanced skills in SAP, Excel, and PowerPoint presentations.
•    Travel: Comfortable with the possibility of some travel.
•    Business knowledge: Comprehensive analytical and organizational skills with a keen business sense.
•    Leadership: Proven leadership abilities with a talent for developing and deploying strategic action plans.
•    Communication: Effective communicator and negotiator.
