Hourly Rate: $17.00 to $23.00 Our Sous Chef will be responsible for providing supportive leadership to kitchen staff throughout food service cycle and provide an optimal dining experience for residents. Job Responsibilities: + Manage all activities in the kitchen, including food preparation and production, and management and training of kitchen staff + Ensure efficient, cost-effective operation and profitability of food production + Supervise and inspect all preparation and cooking equipment on a regular basis to ensure that they are kept clean, sanitary, and in perfect operating order + Ensure that food products, presentation, and plating are of the highest quality, and are prepared to serve in a timely manner + Assume the role as Executive Chef in his or her absence + Assure adherence to all standards of food quality, preparation, recipes, and presentation in conjunction with the specifications + Monitor holding and storage operations, stocking and food rotation, and guarantee food service sanitation standards are met + Assure kitchen personnel is trained in best cleanliness and sanitation practices + Contributes to meeting the fluctuating staffing needs of the department as evidenced by flexibility in own assignments and work schedules Qualifications: + High school or GED equivalent required, formal culinary training or associate degree in culinary arts preferred; Minimum 2-5 years cooking experience in a fine dining environment and experience in a culinary leadership role preferred + Previous experience preferred; experience in Assisted Living a plus. + Strong organization and time management skills + Able to build positive and strong relationships with supervisors, coworkers and residents. + Focused and dedicated to provide excellent customer service + Able to handle multiple jobs and priorities Why work at Mary Wade Home + Highly skilled leadership that coach you to grow your skills and knowledge + Fair-minded management that helps you succeed + Diversity, communication, compassion and professionalism are part of our company values + Open door culture – speak to leadership anytime! + A clean, safe work environment - we are proud of our safety record! + A reputation you can be proud to represent - we deliver the highest quality services!
