As a Sous Chef you will be using your culinary skills to assist the team with preparation of high quality meals and food items while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. You will have the opportunity to cross-train in multiple culinary workstations and gain new skills that can help you advance in your career. You will under report to the Chef de Cuisine and Executive Chef daily and assist with daily operations of our kitchens working to create the best possible products for our employees and guests.

Leads kitchen team in the CDC’s absenceProvides guidance to culinary support, including, but not limited, to line cooking, food preparation, and dish platingWorks with CDC to maintain kitchen organization and inventoryAble to properly place food orders in the absence of the CDCFood Preparation Skills – prepare a wide variety of meals and dishes on time and with a high level of quality and presentationMenu Development – May assist with the CDC in creating new dishes and changing cycle menuTeam Leadership – coordinate the activities of culinary staff, and delegate tasks and oversee operationsCommunication Skills –excellent written and verbal communication to work with customers and culinary staffUnderstand and act in accordance with the IDEXX Mission and Values statements with a focus on quality and customer service Strong team player with the ability to complete daily goals in a quality focused organization Demonstrated ability to work both individually and as a team contributor Ability to work with minimal supervision and to make independent decisions when needed Good communication skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback. Understanding of the chemicals and proper procedure to use them.
