**Job Description:**
Supervises staff and provides culinary expertise in food preparation service, assuring proper production techniques, portion control and plating standards are applied according to menu, recipe, and department standards.
**Posting Details**
+ **Shift:** **Will work with the Executive Chef to determine schedule of 40 hour per week. This may include weekends and holidays based on department staffing and needs. On-site work needed, currently no on-call requirements**
+ **Full Time 40 hrs/weekly**
**Scope**
+ Assists in the daily operations for food preparation and food service operations to ensure associates have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources to perform their jobs and meet goals and deadlines. May include arranging for and covering staffing needs. Manager/supervisor duties as assigned.
+ Assists in the preparation, portioning, garnishing, presentation and safe storage of food.
+ Utilizes Food Management Systems to track food consumption in order to purchase the appropriate amount of ingredients for preparation and provides recipe standards for each meal.
+ Ensures that kitchen, equipment and storage facilities are sanitary, neat and organized.
+ Probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate resources when necessary.
+ Leads by providing positive and constructive feedback to employees in order to reward, coach, correct and motivate.
+ Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as department policies and procedures (e.g. quality assurance, safety, operations, personnel).
+ Establishes a safe work environment for employees by providing safety-related training and equipment maintenance.
+ Ensures department compliance with all food safety standards and Hazardous Analysis of Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines.
+ Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to employees.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Serv- Safe Certification to be obtained within 3 months on the job is required
**Preferred**
+ High school diploma or equivalent is preferred Two (2) year Associates degree from an accredited Culinary school is preferred
+ Four (4) years of high volume cooking, Two (2) years in a culinary leadership role is preferred

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
