NATIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR MUSEUM
The National Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington, Texas will serve as the premier national institution dedicated to the stories, impact, and legacy of the service members who went on to become Medal of Honor recipients. Neither a war memorial nor a military museum, the National Medal of Honor Museum is a humbling endeavor that will take visitors on a narrative journey through the life stories of ordinary people who made extraordinary choices above and beyond the call of duty. The museum footprint encompasses over 100,000 square feet, cornering five acres of waterfront in Arlington, Texas. Over 31,000 square feet of Exhibition Galleries as well as dedicated spaces for meetings, symposiums, memorials, and ceremonies. THE ROLE
Under the direction of the Executive Chef, this individual will manage all culinary operations at the National Medal of Honor Museum, including production, sanitation, and stewarding. With Banquet experience, they will also assist in executing large-scale events, ensuring quality, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS People and product focused hands-on management of day-to-day operations of all prep spaces and kitchens. Enforces all departmental and organizational policies and procedures. Assures staff compliance with all standards, policies and procedures. Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and additional job specific safety training. Oversee inventory management to assure all outlets are always adequately supplied. Performs periodic inventory. Requisitioning and purchasing. Maintains effective vendor relationships. Assists in monitoring proper receiving, storage, and rotation of food products to comply with Health Department regulations. Including coverage, labeling, dating, and placing items in proper storage containers to ensure products freshness. Participates in the production of all food items necessary for the operation as directed by Executive Chef. Participates and assists with leading culinary staff in the sanitation standards of all kitchens to assure compliance with local health department standards and company standards. Provides efficient service and quality products by maintaining positive customer and client relations through effective communication and prudent financial practices. Works under the direction of the Executive Chef concerning banquets. Performs other duties as assigned by Executive Chef.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, the successful candidate must be able to perform each essential duty below at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
The ideal candidate will have a degree or certification from an accredited culinary arts institute, or apprenticeship certification from the American Culinary Federation. Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a high-volume full-service food operation. Proven track record in improving kitchen efficiency, quality, food and labor costs. Must have excellent team building and communication skills/customer service. Must have knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment. Must be detail-oriented and extremely organized with the ability to learn new programs and procedures quickly. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must be flexible to work extended hours due to business requirements including nights, weekends and holidays. Must be open to providing incidental or short-term support to other facilities in the event of a business need. Bilingual in English and Spanish, a plus.COMPENSATION
