**DESCRIPTION:**
The ideal candidate for Hyatt Regency McCormick Place’s PM Outlet Sous Chef role is a dynamic and experienced culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This position oversees the culinary operations of our bar, three-meal restaurant, and quick-service outlets, primarily working evening shifts. The PM Outlets Sous Chef will be responsible for leading the culinary team, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and managing production for all dining services during evening hours. The role requires strong leadership skills to support, mentor, and develop kitchen staff while maintaining Hyatt’s standards of excellence.
Hyatt develops Sous Chefs to progress into the role of Executive Sous Chef through the training of Banquets, Restaurants and Garde Manager. Sous Chefs report directly to the Executive Sous Chef and/or Executive Chef.

**RESPONSIBILITIES** (Include, but not limited to)
+ Managing daily operations and ensuring smooth service transitions in the outlets during the evening
+ Overseeing food preparation, production, and presentation to maintain quality and consistency
+ Collaborating with front-of-the-house managers to enhance guest dining experiences
+ Monitoring inventory and controlling food costs
+ Upholding health, safety, and sanitation standards
+ Training and mentoring the culinary team to ensure professional growth and strong teamwork
+ Support senior leadership by developing and assuming basic management responsibilities
+ Supervise the preparation and cooking of various food items
+ Develop and implement creative menu items that adhere to Hyatt brand standards
+ Plan, coordinate & implement special events and holiday functions
+ Manage hourly kitchen employees through scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluating and hiring
+ May manage other key culinary leadership rolls including supervisor and other less senior Sous Chefs
+ Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction results
+ Monitor food production, ordering, cost, and quality and consistency on a daily basis
+ Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment
**SALARY:** Salary range for this position is $60,100 - $73,600. Actual pay will be commensurate with experience.

**Qualifications:**
+ In-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations
+ 3-4 years of culinary managerial experience is appreciated
+ Possess strong leadership, communication, organization and relationship skills
+ Experience with training, basic financial management and customer service
+ Proficient in general computer knowledge
+ A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast paced customer service environment
+ Capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner
+ Strong training and communication skills
+ Culinary education and/or on the job training, hotel experience preferred
+ Geographic and schedule flexibility preferred
