Job Summary As a Sous Chef, you'll play a key role in the successful operation of the Culinary Department at Reamer Dining Hall. You'll assist in overseeing food preparation, daily menu development, and the execution of catering events, while ensuring high standards of quality, sanitation, and cost control. You'll work closely with the Executive Chef to bring creative and exciting culinary experiences to our all-you-can-eat facility. Key Responsibilities: + Collaborate with the Executive Chef to manage food cost and control expenditures + Assist in planning and creating innovative menus + Oversee catering events, ensuring excellent execution + Roll out new culinary programs with the support of the Company’s marketing and culinary team + Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met Preferred Qualifications: + A.S. degree or equivalent experience + Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience + High-volume food service and batch cooking experience is highly desirable + Strong catering experience is a plus + Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and internet applications + Experience with food trends, cost control, and presentation + ServSafe certified (preferred) This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and entrepreneurial culinary professional to lead a high-volume operation while delivering exceptional dining experiences at Union College!
