In the role of South Central Power Market Sector Cultural Resources Lead, we'll count on you to:
Serve as Principal Investigator and/or Project Manager for cultural resources investigations, ensuring compliance with Antiquities Code of Texas, National Historic Preservation Act, National Environmental Policy Act, and other applicable federal, state, and municipal regulationsManage Cultural Resources Projects from inception to completion, including:Writing project proposals and developing project cost estimates,Maintaining project records and information using HDR’s project management software and toolboxUnderstand the various energy markets in the United States and identify and market Power Market Sector opportunities within the South Central regionMaintain and leverage an existing network of clients to further the growth of the Cultural Resources Business ClassWork with multi-disciplinary teams in our power, water, industrial, transportation, and oil and gas sectors in the South Central region and nationally to help plan, staff, and execute major CRM effortsWork under the direction of the South Central Cultural Resources Business Class Leader and Archaeology Program Lead as part of a regional team of archaeologists, and collaborate with existing CRM team leaders responsible for managing archaeological surveys and site documentationServe as primary author on cultural resource technical reportsManage the production of professional quality reports for NRHP and NEPA compliancePeer review draft reports and desktop background reviews produced by Project Archaeologists and other Principal Investigators before final content reviewPerform other duties as neededPhysical Requirements
Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbsWork hours other than 8 to 5 which may include weekends and/or night shiftsMust have a valid Texas Driver’s LicenseBe able to operate a vehicle day or nightApproximately 10% travel requiredPreferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field and a minimum of five years’ experienceMust have experience identifying and recording pre-contact and historic resourcesMust have experience conducting testing, data recovery, and curation activities Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks in adverse environmental conditions (e.g., rugged terrain, remote locations, hot and cold temperatures)Must also have good organizational skills, a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn, and execute new tasksMust be able to effectively work in minimally supervised and/or unsupervised environmentsMay be required to submit both a writing sample and verifiable referencesExperience managing archeological teams comprised of project archaeologists and field crew chiefsNetwork of regional / national technical experts required for Phase II testing, Phase III mitigation and analysesNational Historic Preservation Act - Section 106 coordination managementRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in related field 7 years related experience A minimum of 2 years project management experience Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
